Daffodils in the churchyard

Langton and Lammermuir Kirk Teas
take place on Wednesday 14 July from 2 – 4pm and from 7 – 8pm at Eden House, South Street Gavinton.  Enjoy a lovely afternoon tea with home baking in a very attractive garden with a lovely view.  Home baking, books, plants and bric a brac stalls.

The Guild
Langton and Lammermuir Guild meets on the fourth Thursday of each month, usually at 7.30pm in the church hall at the rear of the church in Gavinton.  About 25 attend and men are welcome as well as women.  During January, February and March the meeting takes place at 2pm.  The theme for 2009/2010 is Called to Act Justly and the topics dealt with generally reflect the theme.  Time is also allowed for a chat over a cup of tea.

Soup Lunches
A soup lunch takes place on the second Wednesday of each month, except July and August, at 12.30pm in the church hall at the rear of the church in Gavinton.  Entry is by donation to church funds. All are welcome.

Christmas Shoe Boxes
This year the congregation will support the appeal organised by Samaritan's Purse, called Operation Christmas Child.  Filled showboxes will be distributed to disadvantaged children around the world, often the only present they will receive. The boxes can be brought to church any Sunday up until 14 November or to a coffee morning in Gavinton Church Hall on Saturday 6 November at 10am.  Money raised at the coffee morning will be used to transport the boxes abroad. Guild
The Church of Scotland Guild meets on the fourth Thursday of each month in the Church Hall in Gavinton.  It begins a new session on Thursday 23 September at 7.30pm with an evening on Fair Trade by Sheila Sim
